Valentine's Day minus the red roses

While roses are generally associated with Valentine's Day, we challenge you to think outside of the box. Do not be afraid to stray away from the color "red"!! Yes, it's allowed. Two of our favorite flowers are the orchid, for their durability and elegant beauty-- and then there's the sunflower, for its reminiscence of summer and playful quality. Enjoy your weekend and remember to smile!!

A picture is worth

I was inspired by yesterday's post to create my own "inspiration board" describing my personality only with the use of decor elements. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Trend Alert: Announcing the Color of the Year!!

Much anticipation was in the air awaiting Pantone's announcement of its color of the year.  "If there is one reliable source when it comes to predicting the hottest colors, you know you can definitely count on Pantone. For the year of 2010, Pantone has chosen turquoise as its top color! Whimsical, breezy and beautiful spells out this calming shade." says linen supplier Cloth Connection.  Below the color is matched with a flirty, yet sophisticated pink and fushia.

Turquoise has always been a personal favorite because it can be paired with such a wide variety of colors.  Create fun and flirty with pinks and fushias or mix it with a dark shade of purple to create a bold and beautiful statement.  Below are some inspiration boards featuring Dessy dresses to get you inspired.

My all-time favorite is still a shade of turquoise paired with red.

Here's a more vintage, romantic look featuring oasis (turquoise), soft hues of rose (pink), latte (brown) and cameo (cream).  Perfect for an autumn or summer wedding.
